This is a lesson teaching children how to take care of their mental health and showing both Childline and Kooth as possible outreach support.
It could easily be adapted for any age up to 18 as the strategies are much the same.
A lesson covering how racial stereotypes are damaging and how racism still effects people in present day. It covers the Black Lives Matter movement, what to do when they notice racism and offers a range of books being read at the end to help children see different perspectives.
A lesson where children can go over what respect is, what to do when being disrespected and the power of praise. Only other resource you need is a plain piece of A4 for each child.
A PSHE lesson on staying safe. It includes going over peer pressure and consent (there is a another lesson I have uploaded which would come before this), touches on online safety and running away from home.
Looking at similarities and differences in people and how we can respect differences to have relationships with people who are different to ourselves.
Includes powerpoint and resources to print for activities.
A complete lesson that goes over themes of what peer pressure is, how to overcome peer pressure. What consent is, that as children they cannot give consent to some things if they are not of a legal age (eg.marriage). Goes over scenarios in the sheet.
Looking at how to qualities found in positive relationships (both friends and family) and how they can be maintained when there are changes.
Complete slides and printable resources to go with it.
Ideas I came up with for Diversity Week for my year 6 class, it would also be appropriate for year 5. The research project survey information can also be found on my TES shop :)
